Have you experienced an impact injury from a car or sports accident that caused you a lot more emotional pain than physical pain? Or maybe you’re still in physical pain, even though the injury has healed? Although your body tissue might have healed, if you’re struggling with strange symptoms like chronic pain or anxiety after an accident there’s a good chance there’s an underlying issue linked to the accident itself.
The term “physiology of trauma/stress” basically refers to how an incident affects the body after an injury or a near miss. When we work together you’ll experience two healing modalities that work on the deep level of the nervous system to clear away any distress you might be feeling on an emotional and physical level – Somatic Experiencing and the Feldenkrais Method. These two practices have helped so many of my clients completely overcome the lingering pain or discomfort related to a car or sports accident. The lessons you’ll experience will also help you prevent future injuries and will increase your capacity for more flexibility, ease, energy, and focus.

How I can Help
If any of the symptoms above sound familiar to you I’m going to guess you’ve already sought out medical advice and treatment but the pain keeps lingering. Your doctor(s) are stumped – they’ve run tests on you but everything comes back normal, and you haven’t found relief in the prescription drugs you’ve tried.
I work one-on-one with people who suffered a high-impact injury, a near-death experience, whiplash, numerous head injuries or concussions, or a broken bone or torn ligament (to name a few). As a nervous system specialist I’ll help you get to the root cause of your distress so you can live an active and healthy life free from your debilitating symptoms.
When we experience an impact injury our brains and bodies go on high-alert. We enter survival mode and huge amounts of energy (namely cortisol and adrenaline) pump through us. For a lot of us this kind of shock to our system is simply too much for us to bear and we shut down or dissociate. My job is to guide you through safe and gentle exercises that will help you release any survival energy that might be stuck in your system, or to work through the trauma of the event itself so you’re able to fully come out of survival mode and say adios to the anxiety or physical discomfort you might be experiencing.
