We are born with a strong drive to develop, and that development happens quickly, which is why it’s so important to address any stress or discomfort your baby might be struggling with.
In the first year of our lives, our brains and nervous systems are wiring themselves in preparation for a healthy life where we can easily solve problems, manage healthy relationships, understand our emotions, empathize with others, overcome stressful situations, and all other kinds of life skills we need to really flourish in this world. When that wiring is disrupted by a stressful environment we often develop unhealthy patterns that stick with us for life.
Is your baby crying excessively or having trouble sleeping or eating? I work with babies and their parents to help with any problems that might be disrupting their neurological development. Together we’ll ensure they develop the strong and resilient brain and body functions they need to live a long, happy, and healthy life.
Common Problems I Treat
I also help parents who are having difficulty connecting with their babies. Are you a Mom or Dad experiencing feelings of worthlessness, shame or guilt around your parenting, or feelings of extreme fatigue or brain fog that are affecting your ability to function every day? It can be very difficult to accept help, but if you’re ready I’d love to help you overcome your struggles so you can provide the best care for not only yourself, but for the rest of your family too.
How I Can Help
If your baby is struggling with any of the problems above I urge you to get support sooner rather than later. Infants are particular sensitive to their environments, and the emotional state of their parents or caregivers. If they are exposed to on-going stress the long-term results can be devastating.
Depending on the issue at hand, I’ll help your baby develop healthier coping mechanisms, motor functions, or neural pathways by drawing on my experience as a Somatic Experiencing practitioner and Feldenkrais practitioner. Not only that – I’ll teach you parenting skills that work on a neurobiological level to help provide your child with the day to day nurturing they need for healthy brain development.
